Making Your House Dog-Friendly
You should make your floor to suit the dog. You find that dogs always prefer hard floors which they can sleep on during warm weather to keep them fresh . Apart from that you can also use hardwood floors which are always the best for dogs. It is necessary that you don’t spread hair or carpet for them on the floor as this may contain some insects or bacteria that may harm them . Alternatively you can trim the nails of your dog to prevent it from destroying your floor. You will know this by the sound they are producing while moving around.
Another thing that you should do is to watch out for household poisons and electric cables. It is important that you keep the chemicals or other toxic substances that can harm dogs are kept in a safe place where the dog cannot reach. There are also some household plants that are poisonous of which should be removed outside the house. As everybody knows that electricity is a very dangerous thing to everyone including the dogs. Make sure that all lose cables are fixed and put in a proper place. Apart from that you should also insulate the cables to prevent the dog from shock.
Another thing that you should do is to avoid white or bright things. The dogs will easily damage this white or bright items. So make sure that when you are stocking your furniture make sure you go for the ones with dull colors. Besides, you should put strong things in your house to prevent them from being broken by dogs.
You should also set an area in the house specifically for dogs. This area should be a dog-friendly area where you put the dog things for playing like toys, their bed, mat and many other things. You can as well build them a kennel.
You should keep the kitchen cabinet doors locked so that they cannot eat your food. Make sure you dispose the kitchen wastes correctly especially the bones which dogs can break into pieces, and they can hurt someone. Keep only the things that are not interesting the dog to prevent them from spreading the litter.
It is also important that you clear the table after each and every meal. The dogs always have the habit of stretching so that they eat some food on the table. As a result you will run at a loss since the dog will break some of your valuable plates or glasses.
